Experience & Expertise

Environmental expertise. Strategic thinking. Practical results.

K2 Environmental Consulting was built on more than 15 years of experience working across environment, ecology, conservation, GIS, strategic planning, and organizational leadership.

Our work brings together technical environmental knowledge and practical experience helping organizations turn complex environmental challenges into clear strategies and actionable projects.

From field-based water quality research to conservation planning, biodiversity strategy, GIS analysis, nonprofit leadership, and environmental consulting, K2 brings a multidisciplinary perspective to every project.

Your vision. Our expertise. The power of two.

A Multidisciplinary Foundation

Science + GIS + Strategy + Conservation

K2’s strength comes from connecting disciplines that are often treated separately.

🌿 Environmental Science

A B.S. in Environmental Science with a geology concentration provides the scientific foundation for understanding environmental systems, natural resources, and the relationships between people and the landscape.

🗺️ Geographic Information Systems

An M.S. in Geographic Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University provides the technical foundation for spatial analysis, environmental mapping, and data-driven decision-making.

🌎 Integrative Conservation

Graduate-level study in Integrative Conservation and Anthropology at the University of Georgia expanded that foundation to include interdisciplinary approaches to conservation and the relationship between people, communities, and natural systems.

📋 Strategic & Organizational Leadership

Experience at the director and executive level has added another dimension: understanding how strategy, operations, finance, technology, partnerships, and organizational capacity determine whether good ideas actually get implemented.

More Than a Technical Consultant

We understand the bigger picture.

Environmental projects rarely exist in isolation.

A habitat restoration project may require funding.
A management plan may need GIS.
A community initiative may require stakeholder coordination.
A conservation goal may need an implementation strategy.

K2 brings these pieces together.

Science informs the strategy.
GIS reveals the landscape.
Planning establishes the path.
Funding makes projects possible.
Partnerships turn plans into action.

Professional & Community Engagement

K2’s broader experience also includes ongoing land management, professional certification, and community-based environmental leadership. Current activities include land management and leadership roles with local conservation organizations, as well as PADI Open Water and Dry Suit Diver certifications.

This experience reinforces something fundamental to K2’s approach:

Environmental stewardship isn’t just a profession. It’s a way of understanding our relationship with the places we live and work.
